Valorization of cultural heritage

Cultural heritage valorization refers to all actions aimed at recognizing, preserving, and promoting the cultural values, traditions, and traditional knowledge of indigenous peoples and local communities (IPLCs). This approach is essential for maintaining the integrity of Cameroonian forests, where IPLCs have lived in harmony with the forest for centuries.

By recognizing, preserving, and promoting the cultural values, traditions, and traditional knowledge of these communities, we can strengthen their cultural identity and pride, thus motivating them to protect and preserve their natural environment. Cultural heritage valorization can also contribute to developing sustainable economic activities, such as crafts, cultural tourism, and the production of local products, which improve the well-being of local communities and promote social cohesion and political stability in the region. In this context, cultural heritage valorization is a key strategy for preserving biodiversity and unique ecosystems, while promoting sustainable development and social justice for local communities.
