KICK-OFF MISSION FOR THE PROJECT TO STRENGTHEN THE CAPACITIES OF WOMEN'S ORGANISATIONS AND INDIGENOUS PEOPLES
From 14 to 21 October 2025, AAFEBEN carried out a start-up mission for the project to strengthen the capacities of women's organisations and indigenous peoples in the municipalities of Yokadouma and Salapoumbé. This project is funded by the European Union (EU) and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and supported by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).

This project aims to equip beneficiary communities with structural, technical and financial skills so that they can carry out effective advocacy strategies, particularly in favour of women's rights and indigenous peoples.
The main purpose of this mission was to inform stakeholders (administrative and sectoral authorities, decentralised local authorities) and beneficiaries (CBOs) about the relevance of the project and its added value within local and indigenous communities in order to ensure their participation and involvement in the implementation of the project.
AAFEBEN met with four beneficiary community-based organisations (CBOs), namely the LA GRACE association in Yokadouma, the GIC EVA tu dors ta vie dort in Lokomo, the GIC WOSE BAKA I WOSOLO in Salapoumbé and the GIC NISSAKAYENE in Mendoungue, each in their own community. These discussions not only enabled a precise assessment of capacity-building needs, but also led to the signing of collaboration agreements with each group.
This key step formalises the partnership between AAFEBEN and these four CBOs. The foundations are now in place for the project to enter its active phase and transform local capacities into concrete advocacy actions.
